My 9-year-old understands maths conceptually but freezes with abstract notation. Every textbook we have tried lasts two weeks before tears. Any recommendations?

RightStart Mathematics changed everything for us. Abacus-based, almost no worksheet work. My daughter went from refusing maths to asking for it.

Math Mammoth is visual and cheap. PDFs only. We printed the fractions chapter and it clicked within a week.

Beast Academy has a comic format that visual learners love. Goes deep and the problems are genuinely creative.

Singapore Maths bar models are exactly what visual learners need. The model-drawing method translates abstract problems into pictures.
